On an annual basis the VCSCB likes to provide an update on activities of our two shared resources. We are pleased to do so again this year.
The overall goal of Creative Data Solutions (CDS) is to provide informatics and bioinformatics solutions for the reproducible analysis of research data. Dr. Cartailler will provide an overview of the services he provides that are relevant to investigations in stem and progenitor cell biology. This includes the analysis of single-cell and bulk RNA sequencing data, gene co-expression network analysis, data management and reporting, and software/database development.
The overall goal the Vanderbilt Genome Editing Resource (VGER) is to facilitate the production, use and sharing of genetically-altered mice. Over the past two years, VGER has generated 34 new mouse models using CRISPR/Cas9. The projects have included gene deletions, point mutations, conditional alleles, and the targeted insertion of transgenes. In addition, we recently adopted state-of-the-art sperm and embryo cryopreservation methods, and have established the Vanderbilt Cryopreserved Mouse Repository.
