Presentation Title | A population of muscle-specific stress fibers template myofibril assembly in cardiomyocytes |
Status | This meeting has already occurred |
Force generating myofibrils found within cardiomyocytes collectively drive the beating of the heart. How myofibrils are mechanistically and dynamically formed however, is poorly understood. Using human induced pluripotenet stem cell cardiomyocytes, we show myofibrils are templated by muscle-specific stress fibers which are distinctly regulated from non-muscle stress fibers”
