Leesa has fourteen years of experience studying Drosophila and mouse adult stem cell regulation marked by a strong publication and grant support record. She obtained her PhD in Cell and Developmental Biology in the laboratory of Dr. Daniela Drummond-Barbosa at Vanderbilt University and performed her postdoctoral training in the laboratory of Dr. Yi Zheng in the Division of Experimental Hematology and Cancer Biology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. She has significant experience generating Drosophila transgenics and working with CRISPR/Cas9 gene-edited mice. Leesa was hired by the TMESCSR in March of 2017 to offer full service genome-editing assistance. She is available to provide Vanderbilt Investigators with project design, founder screening and analysis, and grant-writing and manuscript preparation services.
