Faculty and staff are invited to join an upcoming Town Hall meeting to review progress in making DNA Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) resources available through the recently consolidated VUMC Genome Sciences Resource (GSR) core. This meeting is scheduled for January 25, 1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. in PRB 206. All interested VUMC investigators are welcome to attend.
The GSR is an expanded institutional research shared resource comprised of the formerly separate microarray, Sanger sequencing and next-generation sequencing (NGS) cores. This single shared resource provides access to the advanced genomics technologies required to support the full range of biomedical research conducted at Vanderbilt. In addition to multiple liquid handling, array processing and capillary sequencing platforms, the core has two Illumina HiSeq2000 instruments to support NGS workflows. Visit the core’s website for additional details: http://gsr.vanderbilt.edu/
The Town Hall meeting agenda will include an overview of GSR organization, technical capabilities and future directions presented by the new Director for Operations Chris Coldren. It will also provide an opportunity for the research community to offer feedback about current status of this important resource.
