Previous studies in malnourished mice
demonstrated a striking deficiency in bile
acid levels in that is consistent with results in malnourished children. In accord
with this, we find that hepatic targets of both FXR and PPARa are dysregulated
in chronic undernutrition. FXR and PPARalpha integrate control of liver energy
