This service utilizes newly added Aperio/Leica whole slide scanning devices and image analysis tools for measurement of islet mass and assessment of islet morphology. The scanners acquire images of entire pancreatic sections with high quality and speed in bright field (ScanScope CS) and fluorescence (ScanScope FL). Furthermore, the system is equipped with a web-based digital image information management platform that allows remote slide viewing, conferencing, archiving, and image analysis.
