On March 22nd, 2014 Dr. Michael J. Fowler received the Shovel Award at the Annual Cadaver Ball.
The Cadaver Ball is an annual event which celebrates the first-year medical students completing gross anatomy and is put on by the graduating fourth-year class each year.
Dr. Fowler was presented the award by fourth-year class president Ryan McGrath. The Shovel Award is a long-standing tradition at Vanderbilt. The award is given by the graduating class to a faculty member they feel has had a positive and meaningful influence on their lives and education.
