Before coming to Vanderbilt, I received my B.S. in Chemistry from Lee University in 2005. While at Lee, I was a teaching assistant in the Chemistry Department and enjoyed a semester abroad studying at Cambridge University in England. Since Lee was limited in its undergraduate research opportunities, I pursued summer research programs at NASA: Marshall Space Flight Center and The University of Alabama: Huntsville. In August 2005, I entered the Chemical and Physical Biology Program at Vanderbilt and eventually joined the Magnuson Lab in 2006. My project focuses on the transcriptional profiling of multipotent pancreatic progenitor populations.
