I am a third year undergraduate student at Vanderbilt University studying Molecular and Cellular Biology, Chemistry, and Child Development. I am currently participating in directed research with Joel Walthall that seeks to elucidate the molecular pathways contributing to stem cell differentiation into cardiomyocytes. These pathways can be applied to experiments involving stem cell grafting, specifically into infarcted mouse myocardium. By studying these pathways in this model organism, the goal is to discover an innovative treatment for coronary heart disease. Outside of the lab, I enjoy playing the piano, figure skating, and spending time with family and friends.
