Pulmonary metastases may be resected safely with associated long-term survival. Regardless of histology, complete resection is associated with improved survival in most series. Various prognostic indicators may help clinicians select the optimal treatment for patients with pulmonary metastases. Novel treatment methods such as regional drug delivery or genetic manipulation may further enhance disease-free and overall survival.
