Currently a second year fellow working in Dr. DeBaun's Research Lab.  My area of interests include the gynecological management of adolescent women with sickle cell disease, particularly as it pertains to delayed pubertal development, menorrhagia and the increased association between menses and vaso-occlusive pain.  Once my research models are established in patients with sickle cell disease, my next plan is to expand to how we can improve the gynecological management for adolescent women undergoing chemotherapy.  Areas that I plan to focus on will be menstrual suppression, sexuality and overall gynecologic care for adolescents with sickle cell disease.  I am also working on a Quality Improvement Project on Vitamin D Managemenet within the Vanderbilt-Meharry-Center of Excellence in Sickle Cell Disease.  Finally, I have a strong interest in Global Health and I hope to assist on projects that are ongoing in Nigeria.
